In 2009, our professional training team provided 20 CUI Level 1 & II & CCM & CWI certification training workshops & 61 custom designed training workshops, across Canada and year round!
In 2009, CUI provided 61 onsite custom design training workshops across Canada. These workshops ranged from 1-4 days and were focused specifically on our client's staff training needs, program design, and challenge course facilities at their sites.
We will work with you to assess the unique training needs for your staff, program, and facility, and design a training workshop specifically to meet these needs.
Custom design workshops can focus on a variety of needs including: facilitation workshops for low element courses; facilitation workshops for team based courses; advanced facilitation workshops; technical skills workshops for specific elements; universal design facilitation and technical skills workshops; accessible design facilitation and technical skills workshops; adventure therapy workshops.
Until recently the Association For Challenge Course Technology, (ACCT), has had well accepted standards for Design and Installation, Annual Professional Inspections, Operations, and Ethics, but not a system for accrediting certification systems used by the Professional Vendor Members, (PVMs) of the association. Since 1996, the PVMs have been using the Operations Standards to assist in the design of their challenge course staff training workshops and certification systems.
Throughout 2005-2007, the Certification Standards Committee of the ACCT wrote, used outside consultation and a broad feedback loop to get to the final draft of the Certification Standards. The PVMs of the ACCT unanimously voted on accepting Draft 6 of the ACCT Certification Standards at the annual conference in February 2007. These standards are now contained in the 7th Edition 2008 ACCT Standards.
This set of standards will further guide PVMs in the design of their own Certification Systems and provide a consistent system/framework for certification that PVMs can use. In August 2007, PVM's who wished to be accredited by ACCT, for certification training services that use the ACCT Certification Standards, had their certification system reviewed by the ACCT.
In August 2007, CUI's certification system was reviewed by the ACCT according to the new ACCT Practitioner Certification Standards that were released in June 2007. We are pleased to announce that CUI received accreditation by ACCT for Full Certification Training Services. It is important to remember that ACCT is not providing an ACCT certification, rather they are accrediting CUI's certification system to the ACCT Practitioner Certification Standards. CUI is accredited as a Professional Vendor Member of the ACCT, which has reviewed and approved CUI as a provider of practitioner certification services that meets their standards.
CUI has been offering certification training services for over 12 years. Our certification system was very much in line with what was created recently by ACCT so our clients will not experience significant changes to what it has meant to receive a CUI Certification.
Participants can enroll in one of C.U.I.'s open enrollment certification workshops in Ontario or Alberta. We can also provide a C.U.I. certification training workshop at your site.
CUI's certification system is accredited by the Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT). Participants will actively engage in an intensive experience that will challenge them cognitively, emotionally and physically. An interactive learning process involves participants contributing, developing and assessing areas of strength and learning. Participants complete a written and practical test and if successful, receive certification.
